Three of my books are now in production for audiobooks! Audiobooks can be a great way to expand your book’s audience. There are fewer available than there are ebooks and print books, so your little darling can enjoy a smaller playground.
I found my audiobook producers through ACX, Amazon’s audiobook Creation site. Through ACX authors can easily add their titles that are already on Amazon and choose an option to pay for audiobook creation or a profit-sharing arrangement with a narrator.
I found three great narrators and my audiobooks should hit the virtual shelves by September!
The first round of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award posted today and!!!!
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! So excited!!!!!!
Seattle and Amazon.com: An informative breakdown of the important relationship between Seattle and Amazon.
Just a reminder: One person who “likes” Don’t Judge a Book By Its Magic on Amazon will win a free ebook. Also, one person who “tags” Don’t Judge a Book By Its Magic on Amazon will win a free ebook (Yes, you can do that without owning it.) If that wasn’t enough, one person who clicks “This was Helpful” on a review of Don’t Judge a Book By Its Magic on Amazon will win a free ebook.
Here is the the Kindle ebook and the paperback (The links are crazy long so I just embedded them. These separate pages will be combined at some point when Amazon gets to it.)

Nicholas Weaver has spent ten lifetimes trying to save humanity, and the woman he loves, from annihilation, but grows weary of the effort. This eleventh hour attempt will be his last, and the secrets of time travel will die with him. When he awakens shortly before cataclysm is due to happen, he is exhilarated to see the world of 2011 is nothing like those lost to disaster, and hope builds anew as he begins his search for the love of his first life, Hope.
Dawn Ingram and Peter Merten, leaders of global power Three Eleven, keep secret not only the birth of their daughter Hope, but the heritage she hides inside her cells just like her brothers before her. But when a chance discovery on a moon of Jupiter brings to life the forces within, her parents and the world she lives in are driven to their limits searching for the key to protecting not only humans, but also the new species of human secreted within the ranks of megacorporation Three Eleven.
Nicholas Weaver, rebel leader Lavrentios Alexopolous, and conspiracy theorist Stew Singleton find themselves working against the superpower when in reality, they are fighting on the same side-against time.
But it seems the fate of the planet might be out of their hands.

It’s my birthday! My birthday present to myself is also my un-birthday present to you, my followers. For my birthday I have combed through all my blog followers’ sites, oldest to newest, and bought another round of ebooks! I will read and review them, with your approval. Here are the books I just bought:
Tirfo Thuin by Andrew Butterworth http://andrewbutterworth.wordpress.com $0.99
The Flower Bowl Spell by Olivia Boler http://www.oliviaboler.com $9.99
Megan and Liam: a CITY WEDDING Novel by Maggie Carlise www.maggiepublishing.wordpress.com $2.99 (I downloaded the preview by accident, thinking it was the full book. This is why I posted no review yet.)
Hyblood (The Wolva Trilogy) by Stephanie Budd http://thewolvatrilogy.wordpress.com/ $2.99
The Seventh Stone by Pamela Hegarty http://womenthrillerwriters.com/ $2.99
The Kingdom Trilogy by Sean McGuire http://thekingdomtrilogy.wordpress.com $2.99
Etchings of Power (Aegis of the Gods) by Terry C. Simpson http://terrycsimpson.wordpress.com/ $2.99
The Index, Book 1: Mages (The Index Series)’ by Katherine Gilraine http://katherinegilraine.com $2.99
All of these were Kindle books. Kindle sure is popular now!
Now there are a few reasons your book may not be here. I may not have been able to see that you have a book, that is a BIG problem. BE SURE to fix it though, because anyone seeing your blog MUST be able to instantly find your book for sale. Honest. I’m really surprised how many blogs there were that didn’t have a link to the books right on top! Some blogs, I could tell the person was a writer, but couldn’t easily find a way to buy their book. Really, guys, people should be able to accidentally click on links to buy your book on your sites. No digging should be necessary! Several of the books I did buy, the author hadn’t set up an author page on https://authorcentral.amazon.com. It’s simple and free, and I recommend that everyone do this!
I may not have bought your book because of high price. This time I bought based on price, only buying books priced $2.99 or less so I could buy the maximum number of books for review. Frankly, if it your ebook more than $5 there isn’t a huge chance that I will buy your book anytime soon unless I have read your books before and liked them. I’m only spending $20 on books this birthday after all. If you still want my review, I would be happy to accept a review copy and add you to the list.
Finally, if I have already reviewed one of your books, I have not bought a second at this time. I am getting increasing numbers of requests for reviews and haven’t actually finished my reviews from Christmas. Again, if you would like a review of more of your books, I would be delighted to accept a review copy.
Here is the list of books from Christmas that I have yet to review, including Blog Tours and review submittals:
These books will be reviewed before my Birthday books, but unless there is a note, this is only a tentative schedule. If your book should be on here and is not, let me know ASAP so I can get it in there!
Because my list is now so long, I probably will not do this book buying spree again before summer.

Synopsis:
Luke MacIsaac is dead, and not restfully dead. His death has come the way he always feared it would: in the claustrophobic, underground heat of a Cape Breton coal mine. He had suspected it would end this way, had embraced it even, so while his body is buried, his soul settles into a watery existence of endless waiting.
But in short order the placid waters of his afterlife turn to rolling seas of time and memory as his violent past plays out again for him. Images of war, childhood abuse, and the tortured life of a brother he loved and failed threaten to inundate him.
More than anything, he wants to escape.
In his confusion and pain, he senses a kindred spirit in Astrid, a newborn struggling to stay alive. Luke helps her in hopes she may one day be the one who brings him out of his purgatory and into a new incarnation.
He discovers too late that Astrid’s soul is linked to his hellish past life. Now he must experience all the anguish they went through together, and watch helplessly as Astrid goes through sorrows of her own, before the two of them can finally meet in this world and find peace together.
Thea Atkinson is a writer of character driven fiction; call it what you will: she prefers to describe her work as psychological thrillers with a distinct literary flavour. As in her bestselling novel, Anomaly, her characters often find themselves in the darker edges of their own spirits but manage to find the light they seek.
She has been an editor, a freelancer, and a teacher, but fiction is her passion. She now blogs and writes and twitters. Not necessarily in that order.

I discovered an exciting contest from Amazon yesterday here: https://www.createspace.com/abna Amazon is going to review book pitches and choose six to be published by Penguin! This is wonderful and I immediately read up on it linked everything, and put some important excerpts into a OneNote notebook. I set up an Astrid task reminder to alert me when to submit because submission opens toward the end of this month.
When all that was done and I had time to mull it over, the doubts set in. Maybe I should wait until next year because…I may not be ready for the work of traditional publishing. I may not want to be published traditionally yet anyway because I love the autonomy of being Indie. My writing may benefit more from a year of waiting. It looks like a lot of work and do I have the time to make it work? Do I want the work that comes from success?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m still going to submit something. But it wasn’t a snap decision, partly because I had time to think about it.
What do you think about this contest, and would you enter? Explain. (This will be graded on a curve and late papers will be docked a grade percentage for each late day. :P)

India, a struggling musician, buys the house of her dreams in the countryside, knowing that this is where she’ll find her lost inspiration. But the house is already inhabited by strange creatures who disappear when you look at them, and the townsfolk refuse to put one foot inside the cursed place. Turns out inspiration can be a dangerous thing.
