Early Christmas!

These are the books I bought today!

The Dark Song by Piia Brandenberg  http://piiabredenberg.wordpress.com/2011/10/01/the-dark-song-goes-up/

Three Girls and a Wedding by Rachel Schurig http://rachelschurig.com/books/

City Wedding by Maggie Carlise http://maggiepublishing.wordpress.com/my-books/

Flash Bites by Krista Bunskoek http://flashbites.wordpress.com/

Lightbringer by Frankie Robertson http://frankierobertson.wordpress.com/

Regression by Kathy Bell http://kathybellauthor.wordpress.com/

One Insular Tahiti by Thea Atkinson  http://theaatkinson.wordpress.com/

I went through all my followers one by one and bought one of their books for sale if I hadn’t already bought it.

If one of your books is not on my list, that means I COULDN’T FIND IT!!! Do you know what that means? You are trying to market your book online and someone going to your site purposefully to buy your book CAN’T FIND IT! Yes I’m yelling because this is a TRAGEDY!!! Please, make it so anyone visiting your site either can’t help but see your book for sale or accidentally clicks on it repeatedly. This is the only way you are going to make it self-publishing and possibly even if you are traditionally published.

Some pages listed their books but had no links. I searched for them on Amazon and wasn’t disappointed, but the link should be there!!!

Anyway…Merry Christmas to those whose books I did buy, and if you want me to check out your book, I’ll be happy to look it over! Reviews will come as soon as I can read and stuff.

Warning: I did see some ebooks for $8 and would only buy an ebook at that cost if I new and loved the author, and loved the synopsis.

  1. Do you have any suggestions on making my book more visible? Thanks. 🙂 have a lovely night!

    • Your books for sale should show up first on your page and be linked in any place you mention them. People looking at any of your blogs should be able to see and get to your books for sale at first glance.

  2. Piia Bredenberg

    Hey Kate!
Thank you so much for buying my book, I hope you’ll enjoy it.
And Merry (early) Christmas to you too!

  3. Kate, I have been following. Can you mean me (among others)? Or was the 9.99 (sound likes Herman Cain) price too steep, since you don’t know my work?
    ?

    • By “Followers” I mean people who have clicked the “Follow” option at the very top of my blog and are on my “Followers” list. Followers get updates on my page by email or on the “Blogs I Follow” section of the Dashboard.
Yes, your ebook price is pretty high. My print book costs that much! Truthfully, I don’t think I have bought any ebook for that high cost, even from “big” authors. I prefer ebooks that are $5 or less, especially for authors I have never read before. Truthfully, I hesitate to buy any ebook that is more than $1 or $2 unless I have already been reading that author for a while.

      • I’m not sure how it is that I signed up for your blog, but I enjoy it, and passed on the news about your post about 99 cent ebooks in a comment on Fred Warren’s post “Lightning in a Bottle” (11/22) at Speculative Faith.
Yes, the price is high and it’s high for the pb. These prices were set by the publisher. Please stop by my writer’s journal for free fiction/poetry/thoughts. Your own blog is a kind of revelation. EVERYTHING about the publishing world is to me. If you’d like to e-mail me or leave a message at my blog so we can talk more, please do! Fun.
        Happy Thanksgiving!

      • I understand the constraints of a publisher’s requirements. That’s one reason I didn’t go for that myself. I would love to chat with you about all of this exciting stuff! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

  4. Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Kate, thank you so much for buying my book! I hope you enjoy my little stories!!
    Happy Thanksgiving! (and Early Christmas!)

  6. I’m so glad you picked up Three Girls and a Wedding! I hope you enjoy it! I am trying to get the first book in the series (Three Girls and a Baby) to go free on Amazon for Christmas. Wedding can be read as a stand alone book, but if you enjoy it and want to check out the prequel, let me know and I’ll get you a coupon. Thanks again, you rock!
